Join the Miami-Dade chapter of the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida!

We are a chartered local chapter organizing in coordination with progressive chapters across the state to build grassroots power from the bottom up. As part of a recognized caucus within the Democratic Party, we are rooted in the belief that the party must fight for everyday people and strengthen the relationship between the progressive community and the Democratic Party through the continued development of core progressive ideas and principles. 

We serve as a political home for those who believe the Democratic Party should answer to working class communities, not corporations, billionaires, or political consultants. Too often, the party has prioritized corporate interests over the material needs of working people, fueling disillusionment and disengagement, so through the Progressive Caucus we are organizing a clear alternative from within the party rooted in small dollar organizing, democratic participation, and real accountability.

Committees

The backbone of our work, where ideas turn into action, and where every member can plug in, build skills, and help shape the direction of our caucus. Please read from the following options and make one or more selection(s) below.

• Budget and Finance - Oversees the caucus’s finances, working with the Treasurer to track income and expenses, prepare the annual budget, and conduct internal audits. It ensures our operations remain transparent, ethical, and aligned with our values.
• Bylaws, Policies, & Procedures - Maintains the integrity and clarity of our governing documents. It reviews and proposes amendments to our bylaws and drafts policies that help the caucus run smoothly and democratically.
• Campaigns - Works to elect candidates who align with our progressive values. They coordinate strategy, outreach, and volunteer efforts for local, state, and federal races.
• Membership - Leads outreach, onboarding, and retention to grow and energize our base. They help ensure our members are engaged, supported, and ready to take action.
• Communications - Manages how we show up in the world—online and in person. They promote our events, spread our message, and make sure members and the public stay informed and inspired.
•  Legislative - This committee tracks policy developments at the local and state level and recommends official positions for the caucus. They make sure we respond to legislation that impacts our communities and our mission.
